How to Edit MX Records for Your Domain at TrexHost

By default, each domain hosted on TrexHost comes with two MX records that point to our mail servers. These ensure that emails sent to your domain are correctly routed to TrexHost’s mail system.

If you have your own mail server or prefer to use a third-party email service, you will need to update the MX records to point to the external mail server’s MX records.

How to Edit MX Records on TrexHost

  1. Log in to your TrexHost Control Panel and go to My Domains > DNS Records.
  2. Locate the domain you want to modify from the list and click on it to expand its DNS details.
  3. Replace the existing mx1 and mx2 entries with the MX records provided by your external mail service.
  4. Set the priority values:
    • Highest priority = 1
    • Lowest priority = 100
  5. Once you’ve made the changes, click Modify to save the updated MX records.

Note: Changes to MX records may take some time to propagate globally, depending on DNS caching.

Using TrexHost’s intuitive control panel makes it easy to manage MX records and route emails to the service of your choice while keeping your domain fully functional.
