Name servers play a vital role in connecting your domain name to the correct hosting server. If your domain is registered with TrexHost and you want to use custom or private name servers, you can easily set them up through the TrexHost Control Panel.
TrexHost provides two simple methods to register Name Server (NS) records for your domain.
Method 1: Register Name Servers via the Edit Name Servers Option
- Log in to your TrexHost Control Panel.
- Navigate to My Domains > Registered Domains.
- Locate the domain you want to manage.
- In the Edit Name Servers / WHOIS column, click the Edit Name Servers icon.
- The Manage DNS window will open. Switch to the Manage Domain-Based NS tab.
- Enter the name server (NS) and its corresponding IP address.
- Click Register to save the name server record.
Method 2: Register Name Servers from the Domain Information Page
- Sign in to your TrexHost Control Panel.
- Go to My Domains > Registered Domains.
- Click the domain name you want to update.
- In the Domain Information window, open the DNS Servers & Settings tab.
- Click Register/Edit Name Servers.
- Under the Manage Domain-Based NS tab, enter the name server and IP address.
- Click Register to complete the setup.
Important Notes About Name Server Changes
- Name server changes can take up to 24 hours to fully propagate across the internet.
- You can register multiple name servers to ensure better redundancy and reliability.
- Using TrexHost for both domain registration and web hosting makes DNS management easier and more efficient.
